Want To Bring Back Epic Browser PROXY VPN and AD Blocker Button Icons to Toolbar?

Epic Browser is a great alternative to the browsers that come with your computer like Edge and Safari. It is considerably more secure. But recently, the Proxy VPN service that was activated by default has been made an extension, and to get it back there are a few things you need to do. To get started, you can either watch the video below, or continue reading.

Firstly, click on the three dots in the top right hand corner, the select “Settings”

From the menu that appears, select “Extensions”

You will now find yourself seeing the extensions that come with Epic Browser

In the bottom right corner of each item you will see a toggle switch, toggle both to the “On” position

Windows users will now see the icons restored to the toolbar. For Mac users there is a few more steps to go. Close out of the extensions page and click the “Extensions Icon” in the toolbar – it’s the one that looks like a jigsaw puzzle piece

You will see the Ad Blocker and Proxy VPN listed

Now click the little pin next to each item you want to see in the toolbar, I clicked all three

And now you will see the icons have been restored to your toolbar, and you can go back to enjoying this fantastic and free browser

How to listen to 80′s Hairband’s Music and other Internet Radio Stations 24 Hours a day – Part Two – At Work

In PART 1, we looked at how to listen to internet radio (specifically 181FM 80’s Hairband Station) on the go. In this part, we will look at two ways to listen at the office on your computer with a web browser, assuming your computer has sound capabilities. The quickest and easiest way to listen is to simply navigate to www.181.fm.

Once there, you will find a list of ALL of their cool stations down the left hand side. There’s SO much good music to listen to there. But if its Glam your looking for, Just navigate down to “80’s Hairband”, and click it. A new window will open with a player in it, and it should start playing immediately.

Another way to listen to internet radio through your web browser is to go to Tunein.com, and in this case, again, we will search for “80’s Hairband” in the search bar at the top.

Once 181FM 80’s Hairbands appears, click it to open a new window which contains a player, and even the album art for the songs it is playing.

Clearing Cache, Cookies and Browser History in Safari iOS4

Just like most browsers, Safari, on your iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad has a cache, it stores cookies, and keeps a record of your history. Also like other browsers, you notice a boost in performance if you clean it from time to time.

WYSI’sntalwaysWYG – Part 2

Continuing on from the last few post’s about how the layout of this site appears in Internet Explorer, as opposed to every other browser, both obscure and popular, David from Digital Raindrops suggested I run the sites code through the W3C Validator to see if there are any errors.

And sure enough, I had simply forgotten to close a Center tag on an image, which in true IE fashioned, spilled over and ruined the entire site layout, where every other browser was able to deal with it. In the end it was my fault, but I did learn some interesting stuff along the way. Adobe have a feature online now called “Cs Live Services”. As yet, I haven’t had time to explore them completely. What I did find is that Adobe have their own equivalent to Browser Shots, called Adobe Browser Lab.

It is free until April 2012, after which time I expect it will be quiet expensive, and part of a much broader package of software, as Adobe seems to me to be wanting to move us all to using their products online instead of locally on our computers, in an effort to thwart piracy of their programs. Like most Adobe stuff, it looks great!

As you can see, it has considerably less choices than Browser Shots, but it has more than 90% of the world’s computer users covered, which also makes it faster. The drawback for me is that the default size setting for the results is 100%, meaning its a one for view, it shows your site EXACTLY, size and all. In the options, you can reduce the size to only 75%. If you want to view two browser views side by side in a 2-up configurations you had better have a BIG screen.

A very useful tool, and my suggestion is to use and enjoy it while you can!

Since I have building sites, I more often than not run my creations through browsershots.org to see how they look on multiple browsers. Browser Shots presents to you a screen capture of how your site will look on dozens and dozens of different browser and operating system combinations.

It’s a very handy tool. I am using it myself right now to troubleshoot this very site! As you will see from the capture below, this site looks right in most browsers, most except all variants of Internet Explorer of course!
