Gruffy’s Domain Parking Script

Gruffy’s Domain Parking Script is a simple and FREE script I created for domain names I have purchased with the intention of selling at a later date. Rather than have the name lying dormant, you can put it to work for you by making it advertise itself, as well as by displaying Google Ads which can make you money. This script can also be easily modified to suit regular parked domains.

The zip folder contains 8 files:

bg.gif – the pages background image
config.php – the configuration file for your Google Ad Codes and site details
content.php – A place to enter any additional information you wish to display on the page
favicon.ico – Gruffy’s Domain Parking Script favicon
gruffys-domain-parking-icon-sml.gif – Gruffy’s Domain Parking Script icon used on page
index.php – the main php file of the script
style.css – The CSS style sheet associated with the index.php page
trans-33.png – a solid black .png file set to 33% transparency used on index.php for shading and effect

HOW TO USE:

There is really only two files you need to modify. The first file is “config.php” which is responsible for the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and your Google Ads, and “content.php” which is useful if you want to add other info to the page. Before you can use the script with Google Adsense you need to have already created your Google Adsense account, have your Publisher ID number ready, and have created the following ad sizes, and have their ID numbers ready.

Top Row (Text Ads Only) – 728px wide  X 15px high
Side Ads (Text and Graphics) – 120px wide X 600px high
Bottom Row (Text and Graphics) – 728px wide X 90px high

Once you have modified your config.php file and your content.php file, upload all 8 files into the public_html folder of your web server space. For added security, you can then CHMOD (Change Permissions) of your config.php, content.php and index.php files to 444 (Read only).

WHERE DO I FIND MY GOOGLE ADSENSE PUBLISHER NUMBER:

Log into your Google Adsense account and your number is at the top right.

Alternatively, you can also find your number when viewing the HTML “Paste” code Google Adsense generates for you when you create your ad.

WHERE DO I FIND MY AD SLOT NUMBERS:

After you have created ads of appropriate size, the “Ad Slot Number” can be found in the HTML “paste” code.

Alternatively, you can also find your ad slot numbers on the “My Ads” screen of your Google Adsense page.

SEO OPTIONS:

Open the config.php file with a text editor and adjust the fields to your requirements.

$siteurl – this is the domain name. there is no need for “http://www” here, just type the domain name ie: thewebernets.com

$title – this is the title of the page, as appears in the top/title of the browser window.

$keywords – type your SEO keywords here in comma separated form

$description – type your sites SEO description here

$headertext – type some relevant text here to boost your SEO keyword weight and relevancy

$footertext – type some relevant text here to boost your SEO keyword weight and relevancy

GOOGLE ADSENSE OPTIONS:

$adsense – fill in your Google Adsense Publisher ID. Make sure you leave “ca-pub-” in place and paste your Publisher ID number only in place of the astrix’s in the config.php file.

$topadslot – type the ad slot number ONLY for your 728px wide X 15px high text ad

$leftadslot – type the ad slot number ONLY for your 120px wide X 600px high graphic and text ad

$rightadslot – exactly the same number as you used in $leftadslot

$bottomadslot – type the ad slot number ONLY for your 728px wide X 90px high graphic and text ad

EMAIL OPTION

$email – I highly recommend MUNGING your email address to avoid spam. Feel free to type your email address as it appears if you want (ie – you@youdomain.com) but this will expose you to spam bots. To avoid this, MUNGE your email address in ASCII with EMAIL ADDRESS MUNGER and paste that instead.

EXAMPLE: Instead of pasting “you@youdomain.com” paste the ASCII equivalent
“you@youdomain.com”

Web Browsers will automatically translate this into a useable email address wheres spam bots will not be able to recognize it.

 OTHER OPTIONS:

To add any other additional information or SEO terms, open and edit the “content.php” file

You can list and link to other sites you have for sale, and use HTML to include any other data you require to optimize your Domain Name.
